An Intimate Culinary Affair Where Love, Service, and Storytelling Meet
By Game Changers Magazine | Game Changers Media Network
“Where change starts with conversation” is more than a tagline at Voices of the Village Podcast—it’s the blueprint for how Game Changers Media Network uncovers the stories that shift culture. And when we sat down with the chef couple behind Privée 716, we didn’t just learn about food. We stepped into a full-scale experience built on intention, excellence, and the belief that hospitality is still an art. This is not a “pull up, eat, and go home” situation. This is Privée 716.
What “Privée 716” Really Means
The name itself tells you everything about the brand: private, personal, and purpose-driven. “Privée” stands for private because what they offer is curated, intimate, and designed around the guest. And “716” isn’t a random number or clever marketing add-on. It’s deeply personal: July 16, their first date. Like most love stories, it started simple two people crossing paths at a bar, bonding over an old fashioned, then moving into a three hour phone call that set the tone for everything that came after. Their first date turned into a seven hour conversation. That “716” moniker stuck, grew, and eventually became a signature. Even their wedding day? 716. From day one, the foundation was connection and Privée 716 is the culinary extension of that connection.

Not a Restaurant. Not Catering. A Private Experience.
Most chefs with talent and ambition follow the obvious path: restaurant, food truck, brunch spot, catering company. Chef Cal and his wife took a different route. They saw the gap in the market and they created a lane.
They kept coming back to one big truth: People aren’t just tired of restaurant prices. They’re tired of restaurant service. Privée 716 exists to solve what’s missing when you dine out: the personal attention, the care, the atmosphere, the “this was made for me” feeling. Their concept borrows from their travels especially Italy where dinner is not rushed. It’s a four-to-five-hour family-style ritual. Conversation. Laughter. Courses. Music. Presence. Privée 716 brings that energy back home literally.
They offer two primary styles: A private dinner for couples (in your home, Airbnb, or their intimate space) and Family-style tastings and small group experiences (including curated nights with a full vibe) And they’ve already executed it at a high level from a romantic nine-year anniversary surprise to a 14-person tasting that blended friends and strangers at one table.
The “Magic” Is Service And They Don’t Cut Corners
Chef Cal is the culinary engine. But as he told it plainly: the “other magic” comes from her. Her lane is hospitality, presentation, and guest experience because for Privée 716, service is not optional. It’s the product. Guests can expect: Craft cocktails and mocktails made from scratch (fresh juices, fresh mint, real process not shortcuts), Wine on the table, desserts paired with coffee or champagne, Music of your choice, and yes if you want to dance, the room is yours, and A luxury touch: candles, flowers, custom details, and ambiance done right. What separates Privée 716 is the personalization. For one anniversary booking, the guest shared favorite colors, preferred menu items, and the purpose of the night. Privée 716 responded with: Candles + flowers in the wife’s favorite color, “Happy Anniversary” displayed on the TV with their names, A custom menu with their names and a quote at the bottom, Games and engagement elements while guests wait to be seated and That’s not dinner and That’s a memory.
“Everything Is From Scratch” Means Everything
Privée 716 isn’t built for mass production and they’re not pretending to be. They’ll do small catering up to 50 people, but their sweet spot is 25 or less because quality matters. They mean what they say when they talk about standards:
Dressings made from scratch, Croutons made from scratch (yes—someone even ordered just a bag of croutons) Fresh market shopping sometimes two or three stops to find the best ingredients. A signature 716 seasoning exclusive to their seafood
Their menu conversation had the whole room hungry:
Heavenly Eggs (a lobster twist on deviled eggs without the “devil”), Tuna tartare done at a high level, Seared salmon, lobster, shrimp, scallops, lamb chops, steak, Family-style sides like mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, asparagus, Full bread service, salads, dessert menu, and beverage pairing. This is luxury without laziness.
A Standard Many People Don’t Even Think About: No Cross-Contamination
One of the most important parts of the Privée 716 operation is something most restaurants get wrong: dietary integrity. Because of dietary restrictions, they’ve built their kitchen flow around preventing cross-contamination:
Separate spatulas, utensils, cutting boards, containers, Separate processes for seafood and meat Cooking done in front of you when possible so guests can see the care. They aren’t just “accommodating.” They’re engineering the experience so guests can actually relax.
The Vision Is Bigger Than Georgia
Privée 716 is already thinking global. They’re expanding into two countries, with plans to take the experience to the Dominican Republic after purchasing property there. The goal is to transition full-time and carry the same intimate hospitality model across borders. And then there’s the most powerful concept they’re building:
Dinner With a Legend: Truth With John Carlos
Some experiences aren’t just luxurious they’re historic. Privée 716 is developing a concept called Dinner With a Legend, featuring Wnsetta's father: Dr. John Carlos, the Olympic icon from 1968 whose raised fist became a global symbol of human rights and Black courage. The concept: auction a seat at the table where guests come to him not the other way around because at 80 years old, the goal is to keep him closer to home while still allowing people access to wisdom that’s priceless. Privée 716 provides the full culinary experience, cocktails, and ambiance, while guests participate in intimate conversation with a living legend under the theme: "Truth With John Carlos." That isn’t just an event. That’s legacy work.
Business, Marriage, and the “Team” Mentality
What also stood out was how they approach partnership. They don’t sell perfection. They sell teamwork. They argue sometimes. They disagree sometimes. But their structure is clear: One handles creative culinary execution, One handles hospitality, operations, paperwork, and structure, and They huddle, reset, and show up unified for the guest
They treat marriage like a business roles, meetings, communication, accountability. And they treat business like a ministry because the core of what they do is service.
