The Henry H Washington 3 Foundation (HW3) is a Christian-based community organization with a mission of improving the lives of men and youth in metro Atlanta. Not only do I want to empower the lives of men and youth, but The Henry H. Washington 3 Foundation also gives my life clarity. I stand true to my purpose and shape my life accordingly. People who don't know their purpose in life are not clear about what they want, and therefore waste their time on mediocre things.
I was raised by a village in Thomasville, Georgia; meaning, every adult that knew my parents and grandparents played a part of who I became to be to this day. I grew up going to church and Sunday School every Sunday. Which gave me the baseline of where my strength comes from to follow my purpose. I want men to understand that life is not just about us, it is about our families and leaving a legacy. We as men have to stay healthy and focused on what is important. My goal is to change the mindset of our children, help them understand that we know growing up and getting to know yourself is tough but there are rules to follow to stay out of jail, to not getting hurt or getting killed.
I graduated from Thomasville High School in 1987 and enlisted in the military in 1988 at the rank of Private E2 as a Chemical Specialist and later worked my way up to Sergeant. After completing my application for the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), I was selected to join the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) at Georgia Southern University/Savannah State University and later graduated as a Distinguished Military Graduate in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. I served as a Military Police Officer/Criminal Investigations Commander, a Military Police Special Operations/Reaction Team Commander and Acquisition Officer. In 2000, I received my Masters in Business and Security Management from Webster University. I retired in 2013 as a Major in the United States Army and I am a proud member of Shiloh Baptist Church in McDonough, GA.. I received a Philosophy Degree in Business Management/Strategic Leadership by way of Liberty University/Michigan State University and I am married to the beautiful Minister Vanessa D Washington from Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
I encourage every man to near the age of 39 years to GET CHECKED EARLY and LET'S EMPOWER OUR YOUTH TOGETHER!!!!
